At the “heart” of Heart of the Wild is the mission to educate people of all ages about how to care for and live more harmoniously and sustainably with the planet.
The Heart of the Wild Sanctuary for Animals and People will create the ideal enriching environment to make the greatest impact for visitors.
EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION
The world only changes when PEOPLE change. Every single experience at Heart of the Wild is designed with education as a goal. Each activity, every tour, every meal, the overnight experience, the design of the sanctuary, the ever present renewable energy sources – and virtually EVERYTHING has at it’s core the purpose of education. It is our intention to create a model of sustainability as a tangible guide for how we can conserve our natural resources, consume more sustainably and leave a more gentle footprint on our planet.
LEARNING THROUGH EPIC EXPERIENCES
We understand that in order to truly “educate” someone – they need to have an “experience” that touches them and transforms them – without feeling like they are in a “classroom”. Every aspect of the Sanctuary is carefully curated to ensure that visitors are receiving conservation / education that is packaged in fun, enriching and enlivening activities. While there will be some straightforward Conservation Camps for kids, Sustainability Retreats for all ages, classes, etc – we will take every opportunity from menus to media to educate through entertainment.
