Heart of the Wild Sanctuary is designed to be a first. Our holistic vision and approach is reflected in everything we do. First and foremost – the Animal residents will be our priority and everything is designed around that. We will create deeply moving visitor experiences with memories that last a lifetime – but never at the expense or comfort of our animal residents. All care for both animal and visitors will be centered around healthy, enlivening holistic practices from food to lodging to sustainability for our planet, regenerative agriculture, energy use and more.
We firmly believe every person, animal and plant has a vital and significant place in the world and that humans have a shared responsibility to be proactive stewards of all life, and resources, on Earth. That we are all connected, share roots and grow together. That animals and nature help to heal us. We salute the extraordinary people that are caring for animals in sanctuaries around the world. They have made a difference in the lives of millions of animals. We’re inspired to carry this mission forward with a holistic spirit and an ever-growing commitment to compassionate care.

GENERAL OVERVIEW
THE PLACE
The first of its kind, expansive sanctuary for wild animals and people will find its home in Southern California. Heart of the Wild will be a model of ecological and financial sustainability where unwanted exotic animals will find a forever home as we help educate visitors, provide them a sanctuary to reconnect with nature, their families, their communities, and most importantly to themselves through epic, one-of-a-kind experiences. The habitats will be generous and reflective of the natural habitat of the residents. How it should be done.
ANIMAL RESIDENTS
Our animal residents will come from places where they are no longer “wanted”, have been trafficked, abused, slated for culling or are an endangered species in need of special attention. Our “Animals First” philosophy will ensure the needs of the wild residents will always take precedence and they will never be “used” for the amusement of visitors.
VISITOR EXPERIENCE
Every experience at the sanctuary will be created to foster heart opening, life-changing moments that will stay with you long after you have returned home. There will be options for everyone in your family – all while saving animal residents, nurturing visitors, and healing the earth.
EPIC SUSTAINABILITY
A significant part of our charter is to be a model of ecological sustainability. We will use solar and wind to power most of the sanctuary. Water conservation and soil regeneration will be cornerstones of the facility as we demonstrate the ease of becoming sustainable.

At the “heart” of Heart of the Wild – is the non-profit federally recognized 501(c)3 entity called the Harmonious Sustainable Future. This entity was created for the purpose of educating people of all ages about how to live more sustainably and harmoniously with the natural world. Donations of any amount qualify for tax deductions. RESPECTING NATIVE ECOSYSTEMS
At Heart of the Wild, our commitment goes beyond providing forever homes for animals in need and educating visitors. We hold a deep concern for the well-being of the native species that call our sanctuary grounds and the surrounding habitat their home. Vigilant attention and consideration will be given to native plant and animal species to ensure the native ecosystems are uninterrupted. Consistent monitoring will be an integral part of our mission as we strive not only to provide a haven for animals but also to safeguard the survival of the species that coexist within our sanctuary’s boundary.
